Custom Manufacturing of a FR-4 Circuit Board for the Consumer Industry

A client from Illinois contacted Andrew Technologies, Inc. to custom manufacture an FR-4 circuit board used for imaging by the consumer industry. We decided to use our surface mount technology to construct the board. Employing our pick and place machinery to position all SMT components onto the PCB, we were able to build a board that met IPC Class 2 standards and a 0402 package size. All imaging was carried out using our advanced screen printing technology. Some manual assembly was also performed to complete this part.
The finished circuit board, once fully assembled, measured 3x5 inches. The circuit board also featured a ball grid array. After all the assembly work was concluded, we then performed a series of tests - including first piece, optical, and X-ray inspections - to ensure the product fulfilled our client's expectations for design and quality. We then readied the board for customer pick-up.
